The College of Business and Analytics invites those with potential for excellence in administration, research, and teaching in the field of Business Analytics to submit an application for consideration as Director of the Pontikes Center For Advanced Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (https://afe.siu.edu/analytics/pontikes.php) as well as an Associate/Full Professor in the Business Analytics program. This position is a continuing, tenured, 9-month appointment to start August 11, 2026.
The Pontikes Center promotes research in the business applications of AI and Data Analytics, recommends updates to COBA’s curriculum based on evolving business practices, and facilitates connections for students to gain internships and employment. By serving as a hub for COBA’s other organizations such as the Center for Supply Chain Management and Logistics, it orchestrates coherent strategies for COBA to leverage synergies within the college. An approximate budget of $75,000 ensures that the Center can take tangible steps in achieving these objectives.

As a faculty member in the School of Analytics, Finance, and Economics the selected candidate will carry a 1/1 teaching load and could teach both graduate and undergraduate courses, either in person or online, as circumstances warrant. The selected candidate will engage in scholarly research and provide limited School/University service.
Support and positively contribute to SIU’s mission of student success and retention through actions and responsibilities within this role. Minimum Qualifications:PhD in a business-related field or in a field associated with Data Analytics. The candidate must currently hold the academic rank of Associate or Full professor. A candidate must have a strong publication record and success in securing grants and other external support. Preferred Qualifications:Preference will be given to candidates with experience: administrating centers at academic institutions, forming partnerships with industry, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, developing and teaching courses emphasizing the business applications of AI.
