SALARY INFORMATION
Associate Multimedia Designer Hourly Range: $32.18 - $39.84
Anticipated Starting Rate: $32.18
(Upon advancement to Multimedia Designer: Hourly Range $40.91 - $50.85

TELEWORK/ON-SITE OPPORTUNITY
This position is eligible for a combination of telework and on-site work assignments. Telework must be completed from a pre-designated home-based location within the State of California, and employees may be required to report on-site to address business needs. Telework is at the sole discretion of the Court and may be rescinded with 48 hours' notice, based on the needs of the Orange County Superior Court.

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Associate Multimedia Designer performs basic to routine multimedia, design and audio/visual duties used in the planning, creation and animation of adult education, explanation, and marketing materials; participates in creating artwork and creative print, as well as web and digital media such as brochures, fliers, posters, illustrations, animation, videos, and websites. The position performs technical audio-visual duties which include participating in the development, production, and editing of a variety of videos used for communicating, training, and recruitment branding. The Associate Multimedia Designer provides support to higher-level media staff and performs related duties within the area of assignment.
The Associate Multimedia Designer level is used for training purposes, and incumbents will be expected to gradually perform a broader range of duties with increasing responsibility and independence as experience is gained. An Associate Multimedia Designer is expected to qualify for advancement to Multimedia Designer by the end of a twelve (12) month probationary period. There is no permanent status as an Associate Multimedia Designer. Upon advancement to Multimedia Designer, incumbents are placed on a six (6) month promotional probation period.
The Multimedia Designer is the journey-level classification characterized by the performance of duties that require a working to advanced knowledge of the methods and procedures applicable to various multimedia assignments.
Some primary duties for the opportunity may include, but are not limited to:
Participates in designing and developing a wide variety of publications, including newsletters, flyers, brochures, visual displays, signs, advertisements, education, forms, logos, charts, maps, and other printed/graphic materials, handouts, and web content that support the assigned project; estimates time, materials, and equipment necessary for each assigned project.
Designs digital animation, PowerPoint, and videos, including the generation of graphic images, animation, sound, and text into cohesive multimedia programs through the use of technology; conceptualizes and outlines a creative storyboard; utilizes relevant techniques for video production and animation progressions; ensures projects are consistent with the Court's style and branding identity.
Assists in producing the final product by conceptualizing and creating the design needed, including such artistic characteristics as color, style, shapes, and materials, and the pre and post-production requirements of print, freehand, digital, and web; assists in organizing and laying out the content of publications and may make editorial suggestions to improve and clarify the text.
Takes, composes, retouches, and archives digital photographs; operates a video camera and directs, stages, ensures lighting, edits, and produces video productions; performs post-production editing of digital audio and video media to create professional training and informational videos.
