The Associate Electric Transmission Engineer supports the planning, design, and maintenance of electric transmission systems, including both overhead and underground lines. This role involves close collaboration with crossfunctional teams and active participation in a growing organization to help meet project goals, schedules, and quality standards. The position requires utility experience, preferably in electric transmission, or equivalent transmission experience within the private sector.

Core Responsibilities
  • Support high voltage overhead transmission projects through all phases, including concept development, design, and construction.
  • Assist with high voltage overhead transmission maintenance, repair, and replacement initiatives.
  • Support high voltage underground transmission projects, including performing required engineering calculations.
  • Review third party designs and calculations to ensure compliance with Company safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Conduct construction site visits as needed; prepare sketches, field notes, and formal field reports.
  • Safely operate Company vehicles in accordance with all safety and security requirements.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and proposed solutions to department leads and project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support to field personnel, including modification sketches, engineering calculations, and responses to field inquiries.
  • Utilize PLCCAD software for transmission line design and engineering calculations.
  • Use specialized cable and wirepull analysis software to support underground transmission projects.
  • Work under limited supervision of a Senior Engineer or Department Manager while demonstrating initiative, technical competence, and professional judgment.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and serve on internal working groups and professional committees, as assigned.
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, standards, and best practices, with a focus on electric transmission systems.
  • Actively participate in the Companys Emergency Response Plan, including assigned storm restoration duties.
