About the role
Make your mark on BD`s manufacturing network of the future. As the Associate Director - Supply Network Transformation, you will be accountable to the Procurement and Integrated Supply Chain Strategy & Transformation leadership teams for the development and governance of a Procurement driven pipeline of make vs. buy and other end-to-end supply network optimization opportunities to accelerate the transformation of our manufacturing network towards simplification, improved sustainability and reduced risk.
The scope of your role is global and requires program management of a large portfolio of projects at the same time. Projects are typically of high complexity with regards to variety and seniority level of collaborators to be engaged, number of businesses and BD products impacted as well as difficulty of implementation.
Job Functions:
Identify and develop a pipeline of make vs. buy opportunities across spend areas in close collaboration with cross-functional teams and the global procurement and ISC community, in particular Procurement business-facing teams, category leaders, R&D sourcing managers, real estate procurement managers, Finance partners and ISC business integrators
Provide support for M&A due diligence and company integration or separation efforts, relative to supply network strategy
Leverage full suite of value levers such as turnkey site divestitures to suppliers, new product development make vs. buy, licensing opportunities with suppliers, supplier acquisitions or end-to-end supply chain mapping to grow opportunity pipeline
Take accountability for end-to-end case preparation and drive pipeline pull-through from idea stage to case approval and project implementation
Attend steering committees and project reviews with senior leadership to obtain case approval
Secure resources and develop a team of dedicated procurement managers to help grow Procurement`s supply network transformation capability and deliver on pipeline development and program execution .
Collaborate with ISC Strategy & Transformation network leaders to incorporate procurement projects in global network governance process; Adhere to same process and advocate for it among the ISC community
Support central monitoring of all current engagements and future opportunities with external manufacturing partners and work with category leaders and R&D souring managers to inform supplier selection and ensure a cohesive, long-term spend allocation strategy for contract manufacturers
Collaborate with ISC Supply Chain Risk, Product Stewardship and Sustainability teams to incorporate VOP (Value of Production) movement, resiliency and sustainability profiles of external manufacturing partners cases
May deputize Procurement Director - Global EMI, Contract Manufacturing and Supply Network Transformation in ISC leadership team meetings

Basic Qualifications Required:
BS/BA degree with 8-10+ years of related experience with manufacturing environments from assignments in direct materials Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
