Associate Director of Impact Giving

Stillwater Hospice | Fort Wayne, Indiana

At Stillwater Hospice, we believe compassion is our currency.

For more than 138 years, we have walked alongside individuals and families through serious illness, end of life, and grief—never turning anyone away due to an inability to pay. Today, we serve nearly 3,000 people each year across northeast Indiana with hospice care, palliative care, and no-charge adult grief support through the Peggy F. Murphy Community Grief Center.

We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Associate Director of Impact Giving to help fuel this mission—connecting generous individuals with opportunities to make a lasting difference.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Associate Director of Impact Giving plays a vital role in growing philanthropic support by building meaningful relationships with donors at every stage of their journey.

This is more than fundraising. It’s storytelling, trust-building, and helping donors see the profound impact of their generosity—on patients, caregivers, and grieving families in our community.

What You’ll Do

  • Grow Giving: Increase individual, major, and planned gifts through thoughtful strategy and relationship-building
  • Build Relationships: Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors with care and intention
  • Expand the Base: Prospect and engage new donors who are passionate about compassionate care
  • Tell the Story: Share powerful mission moments that inspire generosity and deepen connection
  • Strengthen Strategy: Collaborate with the development team to enhance overall fundraising capacity
  • Steward with Excellence: Ensure donors feel valued, informed, and connected to the impact of their gifts

What You Bring

  • A passion for mission-driven work and the ability to connect people to purpose
  • Proven experience in fundraising, sales, or relationship management (major gifts experience preferred)
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills
  • Confidence in asking for support—and gratitude in acknowledging it
  • Strategic thinking paired with a hands-on, collaborative approach
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and professionalism

Why Stillwater Hospice

  • Be part of a community-based, nonprofit organization where your work has visible, local impact
  • Help ensure no one faces end of life or grief alone
  • Work alongside a compassionate, mission-driven team
  • Contribute to programs that provide comfort, guidance, and dignity—regardless of ability to pay
