Provides support to users of desktop computers, laptop computers, tablets, mobile communication devices, printers and office equipment. Support may be on location or remote. Activities include provisioning, installation / set up, troubleshooting, providing basic training, technical guidance and client support on usage of all equipment. Responds to calls regarding system outages, troubleshooting and resolving users' issues who are on location or working remotely. Strives to meet or exceed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Gains familiarity with Desktop Support concepts, practices and methodologies. With guidance, learns to perform Desktop Support duties, including: oInstalling and configuring basic workstation hardware and software, oEnsuring system connectivity, oProviding first-line user support, oTroubleshooting hardware, software and connectivity issues, oAssisting with installation and update of anti-virus software and with decontamination of infected systems, oAssisting with user moves, including de-installation and re-installation, oAssisting with desktop, laptop and printer break-fix services, oGathering and recording systems inventory data. Learns and complies with the company's desktop, peripheral and related connectivity and security policies and procedures. Learns how actions impact SLAs. Assists with special projects as assigned.
