Position Summary:
G-III Apparel Group is seeking an Associate Designer to join our DKNY Handbags division. This role will support the design team in all aspects of the product development process, from concept through production. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about handbag design, with strong technical skills and experience collaborating with overseas factories and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
· Complete all aspects of design packages including sketching, tech packs, and creating and maintaining line sheets
· Assist Senior Designer with research and development of innovative trims each season
· Assist Senior Designer with research and development of new fabrics and materials
· Prepare and maintain tech packs from initial development through bulk production
· Organize and maintain design development materials including artwork, trims, fabric worksheets, development samples, finalized tech packs, and line lists
· Communicate daily with overseas factories, agents, and vendors regarding product development and approvals
· Submit and approve artwork, strike-offs, wash panels, lab dips, and related development materials
· Manage and adhere to seasonal Time and Action calendars to ensure deadlines are met
· Support cross-functional teams throughout the development and production process
· Maintain accurate records and organization of all design-related documentation

Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
· 2–3 years of experience in handbag, accessories, women’s performance, or sportswear design
· Must have handbag design experience
· Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop CS, MS Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite
· Experience preparing tech packs and managing design development processes
· Experience working with overseas factories, agents, and fabric and trim vendors
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent organizational and time management abilities
· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

The pay range for this position is: $65,000 - $75,000 per year ($31.25 - $36.06/hour)
