Trulo Mortgage is a mortgage brokerage specializing in DSCR and non-QM lending for real estate investors. We're a focused, fast-moving team building one of the premier investor lending shops on the West Coast. We're growing quickly, and we're looking for a sharp, ambitious operator to join the leadership team as our first Associate Chief of Staff.


Pay

$85,000 annual base salary + performance bonus


The Role

This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role working directly with the CEO. You'll touch nearly every part of the business: finance, people, compliance, lender relationships, and recruiting. If you want CEO-level exposure, real responsibility from day one, and a clear path to grow into a Chief of Staff or Director of Operations role as the company scales, this is the seat.

You'll be our utility player and force multiplier: the person who makes sure the business runs smoothly so the CEO can focus on growth, deals, and strategy.


What You'll Own

Operations & Finance

  • Bookkeeping, AP/AR, and monthly reconciliations (with CPA support)
  • Payroll and benefits administration
  • Vendor management and office operations
  • Internal knowledge base / intranet (SOPs, training materials, internal docs)

People & Compliance

  • HR administration (employee files, PTO, policies)
  • Employee onboarding and offboarding
  • NMLS compliance: license renewals, CE tracking, MU1/MU4 filings, state licensing

Lender & Vendor Management

  • Maintain wholesale lender approvals and AE relationships
  • Track guideline updates and distribute internally
  • Support pricing escalations and new lender onboarding

Sales Recruiting (LO Pipeline)

  • Source Loan Officer candidates (Modex, BrokerIQ, LinkedIn, NMLS data, referrals)
  • Run outreach sequences and qualifying conversations
  • Prepare candidate briefs and schedule intro calls with the CEO
  • Manage recruiting pipeline and post-offer logistics (sponsorship, license transfers, onboarding)

General Recruiting

  • End-to-end recruiting for operations, processing, and admin roles


Who You Are

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple workstreams
  • Strong written and verbal communicator — you can write a clean email to a wholesale AE and a recruiting message to a Loan Officer with equal ease
  • Comfortable with numbers, spreadsheets, and basic accounting concepts
  • Self-directed — you don't need to be told what to do twice
  • Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive financial and personnel information
  • Tech-savvy — comfortable with tools like QuickBooks, Google Workspace, LinkedIn, and CRMs


Nice to Have

  • 3–6 years of experience in operations, business management, finance, or a similar generalist role
  • Mortgage, real estate, or financial services experience
  • Familiarity with NMLS, wholesale lending, or DSCR/non-QM products
  • Recruiting or sales development experience
  • Bookkeeping or accounting background
