Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Associate Attorney position in San Diego. We are looking for a self-motivated and ambitious attorney to join our firm. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience with trusts and estate, can work autonomously, and is seeking an integral role with opportunities to grow with the firm


Primary Responsibilities

• Communicate with clients to identify legal needs and concerns

• Independently manage court-supervised trust and estate matters from start to finish, including preparing petitions and related filings, and making court appearances

• Draft comprehensive estate plans and property transfer documents

• Advise clients on public benefits planning

• Participate in networking events and presentations that generate new clients and professional relationships

• Perform various administrative functions related to case management


Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed to practice in California; good standing with the State Bar

• Demonstrated client relationship skills including the ability to lead in-person client meetings

• Ability to conduct legal research, analyze case law, and stay up-to-date with changes in laws

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Typing proficiency of 50+ wpm

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Desirable Skills and Experience that will set you apart from other applicants

• Experience with Estate Planning, Special Needs Trusts, Public Benefits, Conservatorships, Trust Administration, and Probate

• Experience with preparing accountings

• Experience with AbacusLaw

• Experience with Lawgic

• Experience with WordPerfect


Compensation
