The NEW ORLEANS office of Thompson Coe, LLP seeks an attorney with 3 to 7 years' experience in civil litigation to join the firm. Candidates should have a working knowledge of state and federal civil procedure, excellent advocacy and writing skills, and an ability to effectively manage deadlines on a docket of cases. Litigation experience is preferred and previous experience defending first-party property, maritime, and complex personal injury cases is strongly preferred. Valid Louisiana BAR license required.
The associate in this position will defend a variety of civil litigation cases, including wrongful death and survival actions, products liability, premises liability, trucking and transportation, construction litigation, maritime and other matters involving catastrophic personal injuries and/or property damage. The associate will handle the day-to-day aspects of these cases, including client meetings, reporting and investigation, discovery and motion practice, and taking and attending depositions, hearings, mediations and arbitrations and/or trials. Depending on the size and exposure of the case, the candidate will independently handle the case or work closely with a partner.
