Comp: $110,000-$140,000+ / Year
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected civil litigation firm in Dane County, Wisconsin seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team.
This is a dedicated civil litigation role. The firm represents clients in Wisconsin state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, providing strong courtroom exposure, hands-on experience, and a clear path for long-term growth.
Position Overview
We are seeking an attorney with 3–5 years of civil litigation experience who is motivated, driven, and looking to continue building a successful litigation career. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants real responsibility, meaningful case involvement, and the ability to grow within a high-performing, collaborative team.
The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of their work, is comfortable managing deadlines and competing priorities, and is eager to further develop their advocacy and courtroom skills.
Key Responsibilities
Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
Manage written discovery and assist with depositions
Appear in court for hearings and procedural matters
Assist with trial preparation and overall case strategy
Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel
Independently manage caseload and deadlines
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Wisconsin Bar admission required or ability to obtain promptly
3–5 years of civil litigation experience required
Strong legal writing and analytical skills
Experience or interest in federal court litigation
Highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
Strong work ethic with a desire to grow long term within a litigation practice
Compensation & Benefits
This firm operates on a billable hour compensation model rather than a traditional salary structure. Associates do not clock in and out but are expected to meet minimum billable hour expectations.
Compensation is directly tied to hours worked and billed, creating significant earning potential. Associates who meet expected billable levels typically earn well into six figures, with many reaching $140,000+ annually.
