ROLE
The Senior Associate Attorney will play a crucial role in providing high-quality legal representation in Family Law, Immigration, and/or Litigation Defense matters. This role supports the lead attorney, collaborates closely with staff, and helps guide the strategic direction of cases while maintaining DLF’s human-centered approach.
REQUIREMENTS
- Active California Bar License
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in at least one of these areas: Family Law,
- Immigration, Litigation Defense.
- Demonstrated ability to represent clients in court and at hearings
- Strong research and legal writing skills
- Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and compassionately
- Professional, collaborative, and reflective work ethic
- High level of self-management, reliability, and accountability
- Bilingual Spanish and/or Tagalog preferred
- Comfort using practice-management software, e-filing systems, cloud storage, and remote-work tools
- Remote work:
- Ability to work effectively from home
- Reliable internet connection
- Ability to attend occasional in-person hearings/meetings
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Draft high-quality declarations, motions, briefs, and discovery
- Participate in thorough case strategy assessments and planning
- Perform legal research relevant to case themes or trial preparation
- Prepare clients for testimony, interviews, and court appearances
- Represent clients at remote or in-person hearings with professionalism and effective advocacy
- Maintain organized electronic case files
- Manage cases with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines
- Collaborate with staff to review, analyze, and prepare cases for trial and hearings
- Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and DLF’s principles in all interactions
- Communicate complex legal concepts clearly and compassionately
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- Salary: $120K-$170K based on demonstrated years of experience
- Bonus program is performance-based and tied to quality of work, caseload management, and contributions to the team
