LHH is assisting a top AmLaw/V50 law firm in its unposted search for a mid‑level M&A Associate to support its expanding Chicago presence.
The Opportunity
- Work on sophisticated corporate transactions (private equity, capital solutions, special situations, and finance)
- Client Sectors: Infrastructure, energy, asset management, technology, real estate, craft brewing, financial services, and more.
- 1950 billable hours (firm development, pro bono, etc. can be incorporated into billable hour requirement)
- Hybrid in-office policy
Ideal Background
- 5+ years of corporate/M&A associate experience (some flexibility on class year)
- Strong foundation in representing PE sponsors or private/public companies in M&A transactions (drafting and negotiating transactional documents, coordinating with specialists, and leading signing and closing processes)
- Able to run with a deal (manage deal execution and supervise junior associates)
- Must be licensed to practice law in Illinois or able to waive into Illinois
