Assistant Video Editor
Monday–Friday, ~40 hrs/week

$35/hr (W2, eligible for overtime + benefits)

About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Assistant Editor to support the post-production team in creating high-quality video content across short-form (30 seconds to 3 minutes) and longer-form projects for presentations and events.
This role is ideal for someone early in their editing career who has strong technical fundamentals and an interest in documentary-style storytelling. You’ll play a key role in organizing footage, prepping projects, and supporting editors in bringing stories to life.
What You’ll Do
- Assist editors with project setup, media organization, and file management
- Ingest, label, and organize large volumes of raw footage
- Build stringouts, selects, and rough assemblies based on briefs or editor direction
- Support edits across interviews, talking heads, scripted content, and b-roll
- Handle basic cuts, trims, and versioning for internal and external review
- Prep timelines for color, sound, and finishing
- Export deliverables and ensure proper formatting across platforms
- Maintain organized project files and adhere to post-production workflows
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years of video editing or assistant editing experience
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with post-production workflows and media management
- Ability to take direction and collaborate closely with editors and producers
- Interest in documentary-style storytelling and content creation
- Comfortable working onsite in Long Beach and managing multiple projects
