Job Summary:


Sunrise Brands (Diane Gilman Jeans, LLC.) is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Assistant Technical Designer to join our Technical Design team. The ideal candidate will support the technical design process by processing TOPs for bulk production, overseeing sample organization and supporting the team in fittings, measuring and other duties as directed. In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Technical Design, Design, Production, and Overseas partners as needed.

This is an entry level position. Candidates must have a college or university level degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technical Design, or related field.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Process TOPs by measuring and entering all information into the B2B system to support the completion of the production process in a detailed and timely manner.
  • Communicate with internal and external partners for the B2B process.
  • Receive in fit samples and TOPs from our international partners. This includes unpacking, checking in all samples in the internal production tracking chart, distributing samples to the Technical Designers and notifying the team accordingly.
  • Organize sample storage to prepare for sample sales and incoming seasons.
  • Assist with sample sales and sample pick up as needed.
  • Set up fittings at designated times including camera set up, ensuring model changing areas are ready to use, seating for the team is set up and all samples are in order and ready for fittings.
  • Assist with shipping packages to our internal and external partners.
  • Follow up on incoming and outgoing samples.
  • Follow through with questions and requests from overseas partners via email.
  • Work with the Production Team in meeting timelines and communicating the necessary information to the overseas factories.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Take clear and thorough notes for Technical Designers during fittings as needed.
  • Measure samples for the team as needed and input measurements into Flex PLM.
  • Set up techpacks in Flex PLM as needed.
  • Assisting Technical Designers with fit comments and spec updates with supervision as needed.

Qualifications:


  • College or university level degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Technical Design, or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year internship experience.
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Office and PLM systems.
  • Must maintain accuracy in measuring TOPs and fit samples.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to focus on the task at hand.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet seasonal deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Must have analytical skills for data tracking.
  • Ability to work closely in collaboration with all cross functional partners.
  • Proactive in following through with multiple priorities.
  • Maintain a team player mindset and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to recognize priorities and maintain flexibility in taking on new projects as needed for team support.
  • Ability to follow direction of Technical Designers and Director closely to stay on track with team priorities.
  • Must be able to work onsite 5 days a week. This is not a hybrid role.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
