Kutztown University is seeking applications for a full-time Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This role o?ers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, high-performance environment while contributing to the athletic and personal development of student-athletes across 23 NCAA Division II programs.

  • Assist in planning, scheduling, and delivering comprehensive physical development programs for all varsity teams.
  • Design and implement sport-speci?c strength and conditioning programs for assigned teams.
  • Conduct athlete assessments, monitor progress, and evaluate training outcomes.
  • Supervise and instruct athletes during training sessions, ensuring safety and proper technique.
  • Support the development and implementation of return-to-play protocols for injured athletes.
  • Educate student-athletes on nutrition and supplementation for health and performance.
  • Oversee strength and conditioning interns and student workers; assist with the Kutztown internship curriculum.
  • Maintain the weight room, manage equipment inventory, and develop risk management strategies.
  • Build strong working relationships with coaching sta?s, athletic trainers, and student-athletes.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures of Kutztown Strength and Conditioning, KU Athletics, the PSAC, NCAA, and other governing bodies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
  • Be available for weekends, holidays, extended hours, and team travel as required.
  • Certi?ed Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS) or Strength and Conditioning Coach Certi?ed (CSCCa- SCCC).
  • Familiarity with NCAA Division II rules and regulations.
  • Strong integrity, attention to detail, and initiative.
  • Ability to modify and regress exercises based on injuries or circumstances.
  • Workplace First Aid/CPR/AED certi?cation.
  • Minimum of one year of collegiate-level strength and conditioning experience (graduate assistantships and full-time internships accepted).
  • Postgraduate degree in exercise science or a related ?eld or currently pursuing a degree in this field.
  • Experience using Teambuildr software.
  • Experience working in a collegiate strength & conditioning program.
  • Experience working with court sports and field sports.
  • Experience working with both male and female athletes.
  • Knowledge of training load management strategies.
  • Ability to analyze performance data and present ?ndings clearly to coaching sta?.
  • Ability to engage and motivate athletes in a team training environment.
  • Demonstrates ability to teach and reinforce fundamental movement patterns and training techniques.

This position may be eligible for a flexible hybrid work arrangement, permitting a combination of on-site and remote work, subject to applicable organizational policies, operational requirements, and supervisory approval.
