Position Overview
The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle management of mechanical construction projects—from preconstruction coordination through project closeout. The role requires strong leadership, financial oversight, and coordination with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection construction projects from award through completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts
- Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, and owners throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide support in project meetings and provide regular progress updates to stakeholders
- Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and internal field teams
- Review construction drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations
- Identify and mitigate project risks and resolve technical or construction issues
- Help track project financials including cost control, billing, and change management
- Assist with project closeout including punch lists, documentation, and final turnover
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical construction project management
- Background managing projects involving:
- Plumbing systems
- HVAC systems
- Fire protection systems
- Experience coordinating with general contractors and design teams
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
