DSU is seeking to hire a faculty member to teach health and physical education.

The faculty member will be required to teach a variety of courses in health and physical education and/or other courses required by the program. This position also requires willingness to teach online and/or hybrid courses, in addition to traditional face-to-face teaching modality. The faculty member will work collaboratively in a School that serves a number of majors and minors and serves as an integral part of the general education curriculum for all programs on campus. Additional responsibilities include quality academic advising service to students, participation in departmental and University committees, and service to the campus and larger community.

This is a face-to-face instructional position on the Dickinson State University Campus in Dickinson, ND.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Physical Education, Health, Kinesiology or closely related field

  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution

  • Experience teaching coursework at the college level

  • Experience teaching online asynchronously

  • Experience in curriculum design

  • Demonstrable research-based teaching practices

  • Proficient computer skills and the ability to deliver online instruction in a variety of platforms such as Blackboard

  • Strong and empathetic communication skills

  • Strong collaboration skills

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Provide instruction in the various health and physical education courses offered by DSU.

  • The individual in this position is expected to participate in scholarly activities and self-improvement.

  • The individual in this position is expected to make on-campus contributions to the university.

  • The individual in this position is expected to make off-campus contributions to the university.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

  • Salary range of $55,000 - 60,000/annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience
