The Mechanical Engineering Technology Program in the School of Engineering Technology is seeking a tenure-track faculty member to teach undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering technology, with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Foundry work, Automation, Robotics, Mechanics, Dynamics and Manufacturing.
Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days. Primary workplace is the YSU Campus.
Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures:None
Minimum Qualifications:
An undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering technology or related discipline and an earned master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Additionally, 4 years industrial experience related to manufacturing, foundry, automation, and simulation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five or more years of industrial experience. Demonstrated experience in teaching and research.
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field. P.E. License.
Physical Requirements:In accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor physical demands strength ratings, this position will perform sedentary work.
Sedentary:work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs may be defined as Sedentary when walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other Sedentary criteria are met.
