Job Title: Assistant Manager - Process Engineer

Reports to: Deputy General Manager - Engineering & Projects

Role Type: Individual Contributor

Job Location: Bavla, Ahmedabad (Nodal Pick-up Drop available from city)

Purpose of the role:

Responsible for working on identified plant level process improvement and process implementation activities and execution of new product development. Also provide technical assistance & solutions for smooth running of manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

1. Cycle time improvement: Drive process improvements in identified manufacturing processes for cycle reduction, Develop and implement solutions to improve OEE and reduce operator fatigue.
2. Work on New Product development on channel to ensure right process design and achieve product characteristics as per SKF specifications. Plan & execute industrialization for new bearing types.
3. Introduction of new Cutting tools and abrasives (Grinding,Turning & Honing) for output improvement & cost reduction.
4. Takes part in PFMEA, Control plan and other channel documents for New Product Development and revision of existing products.

1. Works on technology improvement projects like vision cameras and advanced manufacturing techniques.

1. Drive New Channel development & machine installation projects (Channel layouts, grinding/assembly, automation).
2. Leads Machine Qualification by using Techniques like FAT and SAT.

1. Works on ECR for effective implementation of change management.
2. Release Process flow diagram, Set up chart, process validation report & Process Drawings for new product development.

1. Develop tooling requirements for grinding, honing, and assembly processes by applying SMED concepts. Ensure tooling performance during prove‑out and ramp‑up.

Metrics:

1. Cycle time Improvement and Fixing deviation.
2. No. of New product Developed
3. Productivity Improvement and OEE Improvement.

1. Installation of new machines & equipment.

Competencies:

1. Sound Knowledge of Grinding, Turning, Honing, Assembly process.
2. Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems, geometric dimensioning and tolerance, Hand on experience on 3D modelling software E.g. Creo and 2D modelling software E.g. AutoCAD.
3. Good Understanding of Process Flow diagrams, PFEA, Control Plan and MSA.
4. Machine Qualification Technique, FAT and SAT.
5. Learning Agility, problem solving mindset
6. Exposure to advanced manufacturing technique, digitization, robotics. Low cost automation
7. Effective team player

Candidate Profile:

1. 5+ yrs. of relevant experience in Manufacturing Engg.
2. Bachelor's in Engg. (Mechanical/Industrial/Production)
