What you'll be doing?
The Assistant General Manager (AGM), Sales is a key business partner to the General Manager, responsible for leading Product Sales Managers (PSMs) and driving sales, service excellence, and operational performance across the Beauty & Consumables categories. This role serves as a critical link between global merchandising teams and customers, ensuring merchandising strategies are effectively executed while continuously improving team productivity, customer experience, and commercial results.
Drive Store Productivity & Service Experience
- Lead and develop a team of Product Sales Managers (PSMs) to execute merchandising and sales strategies aligned with Global and Division Merchant priorities
- Drive customer penetration, spend targets, market share growth, and overall store productivity
- Ensure PSMs are knowledgeable in brand strategies, assortments, collections, and storytelling, and effectively translate this knowledge to their sales teams
- Partner with Merchandising and Marketing teams to execute promotional calendars and in-store initiatives
- Encourage proactive selling behaviors that increase sales, customer engagement, and team productivity
- Monitor competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities and risks
- Participate in sales forecasting and support redevelopment initiatives as required
- Build strong partnerships with lease brand partners and JV stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and business growth
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Communicate company objectives and ensure teams remain focused on customer experience, productivity, and sales performance
- Establish clear goals and accountability measures for PSMs and sales teams through regular coaching and performance reviews
- Train, coach, and motivate teams to meet or exceed sales and profitability goals while role modeling DFS values and service expectations
- Partner with the General Manager and Human Resources to support succession planning, employee engagement, retention, and development initiatives
- Address performance concerns promptly and implement corrective action plans when necessary
- Support recruitment and selection of management, team lead, and sales talent
Store Planning & Presentation
- Partner with Store Operations, Merchandising, and Visual teams to execute store presentation, promotional activities, and visual merchandising standards
- Ensure consistent execution of DFS and vendor visual merchandising directives
- Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring health and safety procedures are followed and risks are addressed appropriately
Communication & External Engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Operations, Talent Management, Merchandising, Marketing, and Global CSC teams on store priorities and business needs
- Represent DFS professionally through participation in community, charity, and local initiatives
- Promote a positive professional image and uphold DFS values at all times
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business or equivalent preferred
- 4 years’ retail store management required; regional and market leadership experience with merchandising and financial accountability highly desired
- Able to effectively operate in a culturally diverse environment with astuteness and sensitivity
- Able to work under stringent deadlines and high pressure and be able to prioritize a heavy workload with multiple deadlines
- Strong analytical skills; ability to work with complex issue
- Able to make sound decisions with relevant facts at hand; do not shy away from conflict
- Good problem solving skills
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written and be comfortable in making high level presentations
- Ability to work independently and on weekends and outside of regular office hours, if required

The salary range for this position is $90,000-$140,000. Placement within this range will be based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. This role is eligible for an annual bonus program.
