Location: McLean, Virginia (Onsite)
Salary: $230,000 - 290,000 base + bonus incentives
Position Overview:
We are working with a growing real estate investment and management firm, who are seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to support their legal team, with a primary focus on real estate transactions and commercial leasing. This role will work closely with acquisitions, asset management, and leasing teams to support the organizations continued expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Support acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate assets, including due diligence, purchase and sale agreements, and closing processes
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial leases (office, retail, and industrial), including amendments, renewals, and terminations
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and business implications related to leasing and property operations
- Manage outside counsel on specialized matters and litigation as needed
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Virginia (or ability to obtain promptly)
- 4+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably with a law firm and/or in-house real estate group
- Strong experience in commercial real estate transactions and leasing
