EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Full-time, 12-month position

PRIMARY DUTY: The Assistant Director of the Phyllis & Richard Leet Center is responsible for providing quality oversight of the logistical aspects for the Leet Center, setting student work schedules, writing and working with the state licensing entities to acquire or maintain state licensure and national accreditation, hiring student workers, budgeting labor, hiring Instructional Associates, planning and obtaining snack/lunch, assisting with obtaining supplies needed for the Leet Center, and filling in for shifts in the Leet Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Serve as a leader for families, students, staff, and visitors to the Leet Center, and the Infant/Toddler Center (ITC)

2. Assist with the coordination of the recruitment of substitute teachers, graduate assistants, and student employees; Assist with student employment paperwork and labor budgeting

3. Assist with multiple budgets and budget transactions; These may include but not be limited to billing for tuition, childcare, and field trips, direct pay vouchers, travel vouchers, purchase requisitions, department reports, forms, and other materials

4. Coordinate Leet Center operations to include overall customer service, maintaining confidential records and files, and monitoring supplies

5. Track and monitor student attendance and confidential student records

6. Provide logistical and support to the Leet Center and ITC staff when needed

7. Coordinate the school lunch program in the Leet Center

8. Assist the school nurse to manage student health information and provide health assistance in the Leet Center in the absence of the nurse

9. Assist staff in developing, maintaining and reporting professional development trainings required by DESE

10. Assist the Director, Dean, Chair of Education, or Horace Mann & Leet Center personnel as needed

11. Perform other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: BSED/BA in Education and a Master’s degree or seeking a Master’s degree

Experience: At least one year of experience working as a successful certified teacher; Computer experience in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Access; Experience in budgets, financial information, and spreadsheets

Skills: Leadership skills, accuracy in spelling, mathematics, and grammar; Good customer service skills; Good communication skills; Good organizational skills; Ability to multi-task; Ability to manage stress; Flexibility

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position will work in an office environment during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., in varying daily schedules.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively supervise student employees and Leet Center materials and paperwork

EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Standard office equipment including phone, fax, copy machine, computer, scanners, typewriter

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
