Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Miami, FL, for an Assistant Construction Manager (ACM). The ACM will support the company’s construction and development efforts across multiple projects and will work closely with senior construction leadership throughout all phases of development and construction. Responsibilities will include assisting with project coordination, design and consultant management, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, document control, construction administration, and project closeout activities.
The ACM will work under the direction of the Head of Construction and senior project leadership to support the successful execution of projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the quality standards established by the company.
Primary Responsibilities
• Assisting with coordination and tracking of plans, permitting, and consultant deliverables.
• Supporting project due diligence, budgeting, and feasibility analysis efforts for acquisitions and developments.
• Working closely with design teams, consultants, contractors, and ownership representatives to support project objectives.
• Reviewing architectural and engineering drawings for general completeness and constructability.
• Assisting with preparation, coordination, and tracking of consultant and contractor agreements and exhibits.
• Supporting construction administration activities including submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes, and document management.
• Monitoring construction schedules, project milestones, and daily construction activities.
• Participating in weekly construction meetings with contractors and consultants regarding schedule, budget, quality, procurement, RFIs, and project coordination.
• Becoming proficient in company-standard project management software platforms such as Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
• Assisting with review of contractor pay applications, backup documentation, lien releases, and project cost tracking.
• Assisting with review of test reports, field reports, and consultant observations to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Performing site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, safety, and general project coordination.
• Assisting with tracking project budgets, schedules, contingency usage, and lender draw support documentation.
• Supporting project closeout efforts including collection of warranties, O&M manuals, as-builts, and turnover documentation.
• Performing additional assignments and project support tasks as required by the needs of the company.
Location
• The ACM will be based in the firm’s Miami office and must be willing and able to commute to the office on a daily basis. This is not a remote/work-from-home position. Additionally, no relocation expenses will be provided.
Experience & Qualifications
• Strong preference for Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or other construction-related degrees.
• 3-6 years of construction and/or real estate development experience preferred.
• Previous experience with a commercial general contractor, sub-contractor, or developer is desirable.
• Exposure to multifamily, mixed-use, hospitality, condo, or commercial construction projects is preferred.
• Passion for construction and real estate development with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
• Ability to gather information, analyze issues, and communicate clearly and professionally.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, or similar software is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively across all levels internally and externally.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with construction safety standards and general construction processes.
• Ability to travel as needed regionally and nationally.
