Loloi Rugs is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Buyer to support the development and execution of our textile assortments. This role sits at the intersection of product development, merchandising, and vendor coordination, offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with internal teams and overseas partners to bring products from concept through production. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong execution at every stage of the process.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to gain hands-on exposure to how products are developed, evaluated, and successfully brought to market.


Please note, this role is based on-site 5 days a week in our headquarter office in Farmers Branch.


Key Responsibilities


Product Development & Sampling

  • Own the sample tracking process, including organizing, reviewing, and consolidating feedback
  • Help ensure alignment between design intent and final product execution
  • Coordinate sample approvals and communicate updates clearly across teams


Vendor Communication & Timeline Management

  • Communicate directly with overseas partners on timelines, revisions, and product feedback
  • Track development milestones and follow up to ensure deadlines are met
  • Flag delays or issues early and help drive resolution


Merchandising & Analysis

  • Analyze sales performance, margin, and inventory to support assortment decisions
  • Assist in identifying trends and competitive insights to inform product strategy


Operations & Execution

  • Write and manage purchase orders with a high level of accuracy
  • Maintain product data, costing, and assortment information within internal systems
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product Development, Marketing, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth execution


General Support

  • Take initiative on special projects and ad hoc assignments as needed


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in retail buying, merchandising, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of retail math (margin, markup, sell-through, open-to-buy)
  • High level of attention to detail and organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive and collaborative mindset
  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and comfort working in internal systems
