As an Investment Specialist (Global Retirement) – Vice President in the Asset Management Multi-Asset Solutions (Retirement) team, you will support the Global Retirement business ($175 billion in assets under supervision) through a blend of client-facing, analytical, and reporting work. You will have the opportunity to engage with capital markets, asset allocation, and content creation in a fast-paced portfolio management environment, with a focus on target date and retirement income strategies spanning registered mutual funds, collective investment trusts, and advisory portfolios. Your clear communication skills and attention to detail will be critical in this role.
Job responsibilities:
- Client-facing delivery – present market and investment insights covering macroeconomic trends, tactical asset allocation, and diversification strategies to both internal sales partners and external clients through prospecting conversations, quarterly investment reviews, and CE webinars. Clearly articulate portfolio views, positioning, and key selling points across target date and retirement income strategies.
- Client portfolio subject matter expert – draft portfolio commentary and other communications, analyze client portfolios (returns, risk, performance attribution, etc.), create portfolio proposals, and conduct ad-hoc client portfolio or business-related analyses. Respond to ad-hoc data requests and reporting needs efficiently and independently.
- Presentation materials – point person for the maintenance and development of client presentations (decks, webinars, investment reviews), research insights, and marketing materials. Prepare strategy presentations with detailed portfolio analysis, positioning, analytics, and performance results. You will be expected to craft creative solutions for varying client needs and update content that reflects timely changes in an evolving market environment, partnering with portfolio managers and other investment specialists as appropriate.
- Training internal sales force – collaborate with sales teams to train and equip advisors with relevant market talking points, product knowledge, and implementation strategies across the retirement product suite.
- Internal product manager and key stakeholder – support relationships with the various global retirement sales channels; serve as primary point of contact for questions and inquiries related to the MAS Global Retirement business. Coordinate with Sales, Global Strategic Relationships, and RFP teams to address client requirements using deep product expertise. Represent the team in internal strategic initiatives and projects.
- Competitive analysis – gather and analyze the competitive landscape across target date and retirement income peers, identifying key differentiators and opportunities to sharpen our positioning.
- Desk coverage – ensure coverage for the investment specialist team, including client meetings, client reporting, fielding inquiries from internal and external partners, and resolving them appropriately.
- Automation – identify inefficiencies and manual processes that could benefit from automation using tools such as Python, LLMs, and other technologies to help drive strategic initiatives that support business growth.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- 5+ years of experience in the financial industry
- A working knowledge of investment design, portfolio construction, and multi-asset strategies; strong market acumen
- Strong presentation, research, and writing skills
- Intellectual curiosity — questioning the status quo and driving efforts for improvement while taking direction from senior team members
- Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple simultaneous tasks; ability to deliver results in a timely and accurate manner, frequently under tight deadlines
- The environment is fast-paced and demanding; relationship building skills, flexibility, and teamwork across various teams within and outside the product group is required
- Series 7, Series 63, and SIE required
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- CFA designation or active pursuit; sponsorship available after one year
- Familiarity with retirement plan structures including DC, target date funds, and retirement income vehicles
- Coding experience (Python or similar) a plus
- Prior experience in a client-facing investment specialist or product management role
