Assembly Technician

Upwing Energy is searching for an experienced Assembly Technician to join our production team building turbomachinery systems and sub-systems for the oil and gas industry. The Technician is responsible to assemble and test machinery and electrical systems conforming to drawings and specifications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assembly of high precision motor and turbomachinery electromechanical equipment at sub system and top-level assembly level.
  • Run qualification tests on test stands powered by LabView interface following test protocols defined by Test Engineering group.
  • Measure and correct runouts, axial play, and rotor balance.
  • Ensure full quality traceability to the work instructions and BOM in the production management system.
  • Inspect and repair used or damaged sub-assemblies under guidance of Engineers.
  • Provide feedback to improve tooling, processes, and design.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.


Skills, Experience, Education, and Abilities:


  • Minimum 3 years of technical experience may include military training, technical degrees, etc
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Able to lift 40 lbs
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Familiar with MS Windows and spreadsheets
  • Familiar with safety protocols in a production environment desirable, including with use of lifts, gantries, and other material handling systems, LOTO, electrical safety, etc.
  • Familiarity with cleanrooms or FOD-free environments is desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience with torque wrenches, bearing presses and extractors, height and depth gages, multimeters, torches, and other hand and power tools.
  • Able to read technical drawings, electrical schematics, and piping & instrumentation diagrams

Physical Demands / Work Environment:

This position will be in a shop environment most of the time. Personal protective equipment should be worn in designated shop floor areas.
