We are hiring an experienced Assembly Operator Level 5 to support advanced fiber optic manufacturing in a clean, quality-focused production environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in precision, and has solid experience building and testing fiber optic products.


In this role, you will work directly with fiber optic cable assemblies and connectors, helping build high-quality products used in critical applications. You will also support testing, troubleshooting, process improvement, and training activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with small parts, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.


What you’ll do

  • Assemble, terminate, polish, test, and package fiber optic cables and connector components
  • Perform advanced assembly work on a variety of fiber optic products
  • Use microscopes, measuring tools, and test equipment to inspect and verify product quality
  • Set up and support test stations for cable assemblies
  • Complete production and traceability paperwork accurately
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and support smooth production flow
  • Support prototype builds, test builds, and new product introduction activities as needed
  • Assist engineering with manufacturing processes for new product launches
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency
  • Train and support new or existing team members on products, processes, and procedures
  • Serve as a technical resource for production and quality-related questions when needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all PPE and clean room requirements


What we’re looking for

  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience
  • At least 2 years of fiber optic manufacturing experience
  • Hands-on experience with fiber optic assembly, cable termination, polishing, and testing
  • Experience using electronic test equipment such as an oscilloscope, DMM, and variable power supplies
  • Ability to work with small parts in a clean room environment, including microscope work
  • Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, prints, BOMs, and routers
  • Experience inspecting your own work using quality standards and workmanship requirements
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Comfortable working overtime or off-shifts when needed to support production goals
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for much of the shift and move between work zones as needed
  • Ability to understand written instructions in English


Preferred qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Blueprint reading experience
  • Experience using calipers, gages, or similar measuring tools
  • Experience with optical power meters, insertion loss/return loss testing, or related fiber optic test equipment
  • Experience with training others, supporting team leads, or assisting with continuous improvement efforts
  • Excel skills for recording, organizing, and analyzing data
