Job Title: Cable Assembler
Job Description

This role focuses on assembling flexible and semi-rigid cable assemblies using customer-supplied drawings and work instructions. Working under minimal supervision, you will build high-quality, precision cable assemblies that meet exact customer specifications while supporting a long-established, innovation-driven electronics manufacturer.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare cables for assembly by measuring, cutting, stripping, and organizing materials according to work instructions and blueprints.
  • Assemble parts and components following detailed work instructions, blueprints, diagrams, and customer-supplied drawings.
  • Solder cable assemblies and small components with precision to meet quality and reliability standards.
  • Chamfer cable assemblies as required to meet customer and engineering specifications.
  • Label cable assemblies accurately to ensure proper identification and traceability.
  • Apply heat shrink tubing to cable assemblies using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Crimp ferrules and other connectors onto cable assemblies using hand and basic power tools.
  • Cut and trim Teflon and other materials to specified dimensions using measuring tools such as tape measures and rulers.
  • Use hand tools and basic power tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, and rivet guns, to complete assembly tasks.
  • Inspect assembled products visually and under magnification to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Identify and report defects, equipment malfunctions, material shortages, or documentation issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Work with microscopes, magnifiers, and other inspection tools to assemble and verify extremely small parts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies and cleanroom requirements.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and company guidelines, including proper use of PPE.
  • Meet daily production goals while maintaining a high level of accuracy, quality, and attention to detail.
  • Perform repetitive, detail-oriented tasks while maintaining strong focus and consistency.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions in English to complete production and assembly activities.
  • Perform additional production, assembly, and related tasks as assigned by supervision or lead personnel.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 6 months of previous soldering experience, preferably with small parts or electronic assemblies.
  • Previous experience assembling small parts in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and diagrams.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and measuring using a ruler or tape measure.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Manual dexterity and strong hand-eye coordination for handling extremely small parts and detailed work.
  • Ability to perform repetitive, tedious tasks while maintaining strong focus and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills to learn and use company technologies, software, and applications.
  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods during the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 25–50 pounds as required by the role.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 6 months to 1+ year of assembly or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience with electrical assembly, electronic assembly, or mechanical assembly is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading and inspection processes is an asset.
  • Experience using hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, rivet guns, and crimping tools.
  • Comfort working with microscopes, magnifiers, and other precision inspection tools.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-oriented production environment.

Work Environment

This position is based at a small manufacturing site with a team of approximately 30 people who are focused, hardworking, and largely independent in their day-to-day work. Assemblers work in a cleanroom environment at individual workstations, handling extremely small parts using magnifiers, microscopes, and small hand tools. The role takes place on a manufacturing and production floor with typical exposure to machinery, noise, and repetitive motion. Personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and gloves, is required and provided in accordance with safety standards. The environment is structured, organized, and quality-focused, with consistent hours and clearly defined production goals.

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Rosa, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
