Job Title: Servo Motor Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling and testing servo motors in a factory production environment. You will work with both electronic and mechanical components, follow detailed manufacturing test procedures, and contribute to continuous improvement of the assembly process using a variety of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test servo motors according to manufacturing test procedures, work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Place parts in the specified relationship to each other as subassemblies or final assemblies using soldering, clips, screws, or other fastening methods.
  • Use hand and power tools, production tooling, and fixtures to complete mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.
  • Read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly and installation.
  • Perform soldering, hand brazing, or induction brazing as required by the product and process.
  • Rotate between different workstations on the assembly line based on production needs.
  • Assist with packaging products into individual boxes and cases and place finished goods on skids for shipment.
  • Inspect and gauge finished parts to verify they meet quality and specification requirements.
  • Make basic tooling adjustments to maintain product quality and efficient production.
  • Handle and move supplies, materials, and finished products safely throughout the work area.
  • Verify that outside labels and unit labels match correctly for all packaged parts.
  • Follow work instructions and production guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Perform daily and weekly safety checks on equipment and keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in electronic and/or mechanical assembly in a production or factory environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, mechanical drawings, and blueprints.
  • Hands-on experience with hand tools and power tools for assembly and installation work.
  • Familiarity with machine tool operations and the operation of production tooling and fixtures.
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions, manufacturing test procedures, and assembly line processes.
  • Basic electrical assembly skills, including working with electronic components and wiring.
  • Mechanical assembly skills, including fitting, fastening, and aligning parts and subassemblies.
  • Ability to perform visual inspection and gauging of finished parts to ensure quality.
  • Capability to lift up to 30 pounds, stand for the duration of the shift, and bend, twist, and reach as needed.
  • Ability to read, understand, and speak English to follow instructions and safety guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Soldering experience, including through-hole or similar electronic soldering, is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with soldering, hand brazing, or induction brazing is beneficial.
  • Experience in electrical assembly, pneumatics, or general mechanical installation is advantageous.
  • Experience working on an assembly line in a factory or manufacturing setting.
  • Comfort working with packaging tasks, including boxing, casing, and palletizing products.
  • Attention to detail when verifying labels and documentation on finished products.
  • Interest in contributing ideas to continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Work Environment

This position is based in a factory setting with an assembly line environment and the typical sounds and smells of production equipment running. You will spend most of the shift standing at workstations, rotating between different areas as production needs change. Work involves regular use of hand and power tools, production tooling, and fixtures, as well as handling parts, materials, and packaging. The facility is modern and well-maintained, with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and safety, supported by daily and weekly equipment checks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Ulm, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
