  • The Data Distributor group of 8 developers, 3 support analysts, and a technical lead is looking for a developer with advanced mainframe skills to join this very busy team.
  • This position will support the Data Distributor / Nova, Base Entry Platform, and ShareDraft applications.
  • This application is supported 24x7 and level 3 production support must be available On-Call 24x7.  Therefore, when trained, this resource will be added to the on-call rotation schedule.  
  • In addition, this resource must be willing to represent the application in issue or project conversations during US business hours.  
  • This resource will also participate in new project design and documentation processes.  
  • Excellent personal communication skills will help to integrate this person into this team.  
  • Data Distributor, Base Entry Platform, and ShareDraft rely heavily on the use of the Assembler mainframe computer language.

- Provides technical consultation and support in the development of computer applications and programs.
- Analyzes business requirements, follows written technical specifications to program or reprogram computer solutions.
- Develops original and/or complex code. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. Participates in overall                systems testing. Assists the migration of applications to production.
- Develops new documentation, participates in the development of department technical procedures and designs user guides.
- As an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance to operations QA on system function.
- Provides level 3 support to aid in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems.
- Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees updating and testing of the business continuation plan.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of mainframe experience
  • 5+ years of Cobol experience
  • 5+ years of JCL (Job Control Language) experience


Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, LiveMeeting and SharePoint) skills
  • Ability to communicate trends and impacts to mid-senior level management
  • Knowledge and understanding of CICS (Complex Instruction Computer Set)


Other Desired Qualifications
  • 5+ years Assembler experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CA-7
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IBM mainframe utility tools
  • Knowledge of CICS Web Services
  • Familiarity with EACO support group / platform
  • Knowledge of transaction/payment processing stream
  • Knowledge and understanding of MQ Series Messaging
