Job Title: Assembler/Production Worker

Job Description

The General Production Worker performs a variety of manual and mechanical tasks to support the fabrication and assembly of foam and plastic containers. This role involves operating basic tools and limited equipment, reading simple prints, drawings, and specifications, and carrying out straightforward fabrication and assembly operations while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of simple fabrication and assembly operations on foam and plastic containers.
  • Operate basic tools and limited production equipment, including cutting, drilling, saws, glue applicators, assembly tools, drill presses, and hand and power tools.
  • Pick parts and supplies from inventory as instructed to support production needs.
  • Assist in the setup and operation of cutting, drilling, and assembly equipment according to instructions.
  • Cut stock materials to proper dimensions and tolerances as directed.
  • Perform gluing, taping, flame treating, and labeling operations as instructed.
  • Carry out masking and painting tasks as required for specific jobs.
  • Review simple product specifications, prints, drawings, and job instructions to ensure correct production steps.
  • Perform required tests, visual inspections, and dimensional checks to verify product quality.
  • Detect any out-of-specification conditions and promptly notify a supervisor or manager.
  • Follow established quality standards and safety precautions at all times during production activities.
  • Use basic math skills to measure, cut, and verify dimensions accurately.
  • Support overall production operations by completing assigned tasks efficiently and on schedule.
  • Work assigned shifts and be comfortable working up to 2 hours of overtime daily and some Saturdays, as needed to meet client-specific orders.

Essential Skills

  • Experience performing simple fabrication and assembly operations in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to operate basic hand and power tools, including saws, drill presses, glue applicators, and assembly tools.
  • Ability to read and follow simple prints, drawings, specifications, and job instructions.
  • Basic math skills to measure, cut, and verify dimensions accurately using tools such as a tape measure.
  • Ability to perform gluing, taping, flame treating, labeling, masking, and painting tasks as instructed.
  • Ability to conduct visual inspections, dimensional checks, and basic tests to ensure product quality.
  • Attention to detail to detect out-of-specification conditions and communicate issues promptly.
  • Commitment to following quality standards and safety precautions in all work activities.
  • Ability to lift 20–30 lbs as part of regular production duties.
  • Willingness and ability to work 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) or 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.), including up to 2 hours of overtime daily and some Saturdays, as required.

Work Environment

This role is based in a production facility that focuses on the fabrication and assembly of foam and plastic containers. You will work with a range of tools and equipment, including cutting and drilling machines, saws, glue applicators, assembly tools, drill presses, and hand and power tools. The environment can be loud at times, and you must be able to lift 20–30 lbs as part of your regular duties. Shifts are available on 1st shift (6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.) and 2nd shift (2:00 p.m.–10:30 p.m.), and you must be comfortable working up to 2 hours of overtime daily and some Saturdays to meet client-specific orders. Safety precautions and adherence to quality standards are an integral part of the daily work routine.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ontario, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
