Role Description The Art Instructor will plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate art instruction to students in alignment with the school’s classical and Charlotte Mason philosophy. This full-time, on-site role in Longmont, CO involves designing and implementing lessons that cultivate creativity, visual literacy, and technical skills in media such as drawing and painting. The instructor will prepare instructional materials, manage classroom studio spaces, and assess student work through projects, portfolios, and exhibitions. Daily responsibilities include integrating art history and appreciation into lessons, providing constructive feedback, and collaborating with other faculty to connect art with broader curricular themes. The Art Instructor will also participate in school events, parent communication, and professional development that supports both artistic and spiritual formation of students.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated teaching and classroom management skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners and foster a positive, encouraging studio environment.
• Proficiency in visual arts, including Painting, Drawing, and general Art techniques, with a strong personal portfolio and the ability to model skills for students.
• Experience with Curriculum Development for art education, including lesson planning, assessment design, and alignment with school-wide learning objectives.
• Ability to integrate Christian faith and a biblical worldview into classroom instruction in ways that are age-appropriate and aligned with the school’s mission.
• Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, Education, or a related field; relevant teaching certification or licensure is preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and colleagues in a close-knit school community.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and to learn the Charlotte Mason and Ambleside educational philosophy.
