The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the Federally Qualified Health Center Division. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies in this classificationfor up to four (4) months.
Level designation based on training and experience (see job description). Starting salaries are non-negotiable.
APRN I - $115,874
APRN II - $121,904

Responsible for providing targeted direct clinical services, public health interventions, and delivery of comprehensive care in Southern Nevada Heath District’s (District) community health centers and/or field locations for the Street and Field Medicine program that provides services for unhoused individuals and underserved populations throughout Clark County; including outreach in non-traditional environments, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and linkage to ongoing medical, behavioral, and social services.
Class level placement is based on qualifications and advancement to the “II” level is not automatic and is determined on position availability, funding, meeting minimum requirements, interview outcomes and the discretion of the hiring authority.

  • Master’s degree or DNP from an accredited college or university with major course work in nursing or a related health field that is acceptable to the Nevada State Board of Nursing for certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
Experience:APRN I
  • No experience required; one (1) year of experience as an advanced practice registered nurse preferred.
  • Experience working with medical care for people experiencing homelessness or in a mobile field setting is preferred.
APRN II
  • Five (5) years of experience as an advanced practice registered nurse required.
  • Experience working with medical care for people experiencing homelessness or in a mobile field setting is preferred.

License or Certificate:
  • Possession of a valid State of Nevada Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license without restrictions.
  • Possession of a valid State of Nevada Registered Nursing License.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate BLS/CPR certificate within ninety (90) days of employment.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Nevada Driver License within six (6) months of employment.
Desirable Qualifications:Primary Care Experience working with adults and children preferred
