Our client, an HVAC/R manufacturer’s representative based in Wisconsin is seeking an Application Engineer. This business provides commissioning and support to a variety of clients and this position acts as a key technical resource, supporting sales teams and customers throughout the design, pre-sale, and post-sale phases of HVAC projects. This role also includes technical energy analysis, post-sale troubleshooting, and industry-related education. The position is based out of an office in Wausau, WI, includes normal M-F hours, NO on-call hours, and delivers ongoing training and certification programs. The role pays $75K-$100K based on experience and comes with a strong benefit program.
The key to this role is an Engineering degree along with proven problem-solving, ability to overcome technical challenges, and the application of engineering expertise in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The incumbent will:
- Apply various products on new and existing HVAC designs
- Coordinate sales activities with Estimating Teams and Inside Sales Teams
- Solve technical challenges by conducting research, analyzing technical literature, consulting with factory engineers, and working with internal teams.
- Support an outside sales team by processing design requests and providing expert guidance
- Create quotations and submittals for the customer
- Assist with training and developing the Inside Sales Group
- Stay current on any training required by our suppliers
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering – BSME preferred
- 1+ years experience working as a Engineer
- Understanding or experience in HVAC Systems and/or Thermodynamics
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills to convey complex information clearly
- Strong listening skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a determination to see projects through to completion.
