Acuity, Inc. seeks anApplication Engineer (Databricks Apps)to design, develop, and support data-driven applications that combineReact + TypeScript front-end interfaceswith Databricks-powered data services. This role delivers user-facing applications that expose analytics, workflows, and data products in a secure and scalable manner.

The Application Engineer translates business requirements into full-stack solutions, integrating modern web applications with Databricks, Spark, and cloud-based data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and developReact + TypeScript applicationsthat interface with Databricks-backed data services
• Build user-facing applications that exposeanalytics, workflows, and data products
• Develop backend integration usingDatabricks APIs, jobs, and data pipelines
• Translate requirements intoapplication architecture, data flows, and UI/UX behavior
• Integrate applications withdata pipelines, APIs, and external systems
• Optimizeapplication performance acrossfrontend, API, and data layers
• Implementsecurity, authentication, and access controlacross application and data layers
• SupportCI/CD, version control, and automated deploymentof application components
• Troubleshoot application, data, and integration issues across environments
• Maintain documentation for application architecture, interfaces, and workflows
• Support enhancements, upgrades, and ongoing maintenance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience
• 5+ years of experiencedeveloping and supporting software applications
• Strong experience withReact and TypeScriptfor frontend development
• Experience integrating applications withAPIs and backend data services
• Experience working withDatabricks, Spark, or cloud-based data platforms
• Experience withPython or similar backend integration technologies
• Experience designing scalable, secure application architectures
• Experience troubleshooting performance and integration issues
• Experience working inAgileenvironments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience buildingdata-driven or analytics applications
• Experience withCI/CD, Git-based workflows, and automated deployments
• Experience withAWS and cloud-native services
• Experience supportingadvanced analytics or machine learning use cases
• Experience withdata governance and secure data access patterns
• Experience supporting federal or regulated environments

• Must be aU.S. Citizenwith the ability to obtain andmaintainU.S. suitability
