Day ShiftDescription:ANNUAL GIVING SPECIALIST
SUMMARY:
The Annual Giving Specialist supports the health system’s philanthropic efforts through the planning, execution, and optimization of annual giving programs. This role manages donor-facing marketing through the foundation CRM, oversees grateful patient outreach, coordinates colleague and physician giving initiatives, and assists with securing event sponsorships. The Annual Giving Specialist plays a key role in building a strong donor pipeline, increasing community engagement, and driving sustainable annual revenue
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, finance, IT or other relevant discipline, or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five + years of experience in data analytics, reporting and database management. Ideally
BBIS, BBM, Research Point, data modeling and wealth screening programs preferred
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
1. CRM Marketing & Donor Communications
· Develop and manage targeted fundraising campaigns using the foundation CRM, including email, direct mail, digital engagement, and multi-channel appeals.
· Create segmented donor lists, automation workflows, and personalized stewardship messaging to strengthen donor connection and retention.
· Monitor campaign metrics (open rates, conversions, donor acquisition, ROI) and recommend data-driven optimizations.
· Coordinate with Marketing & Communications to ensure brand consistency across all donor communications.
2. Grateful Patient Program
· Manage and develop grateful patient fundraising strategies across the health system.
· Collaborate closely with clinical leaders, physicians, and care teams to identify strong patient stories and referral opportunities.
· Coordinate communication touchpoints with patients expressing gratitude, ensuring HIPAA-compliant processes.
· Develop scripts, materials, and training resources to support provider and staff participation in philanthropic outreach.
3. Colleague Giving Program
· Lead the annual colleague (employee) giving campaign for the health system.
· Develop theme, messaging, promotional assets, and engagement events to increase participation.
· Track and analyze giving trends and prepare reports for HR, department leaders, and executive leadership.
· Serve as primary point of contact for internal giving inquiries.
4. Physician Giving & Engagement
· Manage physician giving initiatives, including annual campaigns, recognition programs, and peer-to-peer outreach strategies.
· Coordinate materials, briefings, and support tools to inspire physician philanthropy and engagement.
· Maintain strong relationships with medical staff leaders to integrate philanthropy into clinical culture.
5. Event Sponsorship Support
· Assist with securing sponsorships for organizational events, including outreach to businesses, community partners, and grateful families.
· Prepare sponsorship proposals, stewardship materials, and deliverables.
· Track sponsorship commitments, payments, and recognition in coordination with Events and Finance teams.
6. Data, Reporting & Donor Stewardship
· Manages and maintains the overall integrity and quality of the donor database including regular data improvement, enforcement of database business processes and management of code values, business rules and other functions of the database.
· Ensure timely and personalized donor acknowledgement and stewardship touchpoints.
· Support prospect research for annual giving and sponsorship prospects as needed.
Utilize data analysis tools and platforms to provide trend analysis, donor behavior indications and other statistical information to strengthen campaign and donor performance across all fundraising initiatives.
