Job Summary:
The Anesthesia Technician assists with direct patient care activities, supporting the Anesthesia Providers during delivery of anesthesia. Working in the operating/procedural room providing support to the anesthesiologist during patient intubation. Also accountable for performing blood analysis, ensures anesthesia equipment is set-up and functioning properly. Assists with basic patient care procedures per the direction of the anesthesiologist/CRNA/CAA.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 2 years direct patient related care experience is required or completion of 2 years as an Anesthesia aide along with 1 year of Anesthesia tech progression training. Or is functioning as anesthesia tech at another institution, graduated from an anesthesia tech program, holds certification as anesthesia tech.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree from an accredited allied health field is preferred.
LICENSURE:
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
