Job Summary:

The Analyst, Digital Commerce Merch & Merch Ops is responsible for the end‑to‑end digital item lifecycle management for complex and high‑nuance categories including Seasonal, Gift Cards, Toys, and General Merchandise. This role owns item entry, maintenance, and exit for these categories and serves as a primary point of coordination across Merchandising, Product, IT, and Operations.
This position requires strong merchandising fundamentals, comfort operating in ambiguity, and the ability to communicate clearly across multiple stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant digital execution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own entry, maintenance, and exit of items for assigned high‑complexity categories, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and executional readiness
  • Manage seasonality‑driven and exception‑based workflows, including category‑specific nuances and downstream impacts
  • Act as a primary liaison with cross‑functional partners (Merchandising, Product, IT, Ops) to resolve issues and align on execution
  • Identify recurring issues and proactively recommend process improvements to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability
  • Analyze performance and operational data to:
    • Track key KPIs
    • Identify gaps or breakpoints
    • Support evidence‑based enhancements to lifecycle workflows
  • Support documentation, standardization, and knowledge transfer for complex category rules and business logic


Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with other Retail Products departments to execute digital merchandising strategies that are aligned with Company goals and are focused on delivering digitally-enabled retail experience to the customer in store or online.
  • Helps to ensure execution of digital merchandising programs that align to financial goals and enhance customer experience
  • Supports accuracy of site content and product information
  • Collaborates and communicates with other areas of Retail Products, vendors, suppliers, contractors, and internal, cross-functional project teams.
  • Works with analytical tools to deliver data analysis to develop, enhance and maintain digital merchandising programs to the stores.
  • Contributes to, participates in, and supports continuous improvements and advancement efforts for digital merchandising programs.
  • Develops an understanding of the systems, tools and processes used in the Merchandising organization to assist in the development and execution of digital merchandising programs.
  • Develops an understanding of KPIs and targeted merchandising strategies that drive store results to ensure integrated product coordination within the store and online experience
  • Participates in the development of new merchandising programs and enhances current merchandising programs to meet performance objectives.
  • Monitors category trends and insights; develops/implements solutions to improve merchandising strategies
  • Runs ad-hoc analyses to identify and recommend innovative options to drive business strategy.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree OR a high school diploma/GED and at least 3 years experience in one of the following areas: retail, procurement/purchasing, merchandising, vendor relations, pharmacy operations, or retail marketing.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).


Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in a merchandising‑related role, preferably in item setup, assortment planning, or digital operations
  • Hands‑on experience managing or supporting item lifecycle processes in a retail or ecommerce environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross‑functionally with Merchandising, Product, IT, and Operations teams
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and nuanced category requirements
  • Detail‑oriented, self‑starter, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Experience using data to monitor performance and inform process improvement decisions
