Responsibilities

The primary goalissatisfyingcustomer requirementsofquality, quantity, and delivery, in a safe manner, while maximizing productivity. Specifically, theMachine OperatorIIisresponsible forprogramming andoperating industrial equipment and machinery such as a laser machine, press brake, structural steel rolling machine, CNC milling machine etc. in accordance with company procedures.Operatorwillfollow ablueprint toprogramthe machine.Operatorwillbe capable ofplacingproductionpart intomachine,cyclethe equipment andretrievethe part.Employeeisresponsible for visually inspecting parts.

OtherResponsibilities:

  • Setting up machines at the beginning ofshiftto ensure proper workingorder
  • Maintaining and cleaning machines before and after each shift
  • Monitor machines during every procedure to ensure optimum running
  • Troubleshoot problems during machine operation
  • Ensure stocks/inventoryof needed materialsare ready and available at all times
  • Provide relevant information regarding progress to supervisors
  • Followsall plant safety guidelines, practices and procedures. Also, be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe workarea
  • Properly use personal protective equipment when required
  • Notify supervisors/leads of problems that may occurwith equipment or part quality
  • Other activities may include but are not limitedto:cutting, sawing, drilling,tapping,grinding, prepping kits andlay-outsto meet customerspecifications
  • Maintain regular attendance – have reliable means of transportation
  • Performothertasks as assigned

Qualifications

Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/trainingin relation to skills listed below is alsodesirable.

  • Must haveadvancedblueprint reading knowledgeand theability to follow the work order instructions
  • Familiar withAutoCAD2D desirable
  • Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available)
  • Mustbe able to pass a background check andpre employmentdrug test
  • Teamplayer- must be able to work with others assigned tomachine
  • Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals
  • Attentive to detail watching for materialdefects and any quality issues
  • Adaptable to changing demands
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and twisting throughoutshift
  • Capableofrepetitively lifting 25-50 lbs.
  • Candidates must be flexibleto workovertime as needed, which may include weekends and/orholidays

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works intypicalmanufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Overhead LED lights throughout the workspace create a bright workspace for employees to safely perform their work.
  • Normallycleanwork environment where the process creates somegrinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors,andvibration.Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift.
  • The noise level in the work environmentis normaltomanufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other tools. Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company to monitor areas for improvement.
  • Non-climate-controlled facility in the summer, each work area is provided with fans to help keep cool. In the winter it is heated.

Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent

1-3yearsexperience operating and programming machines in a manufacturing environment

Required Equipment:

Steel Toe Shoes/Boots
