Airport Internship
Schedule & Duration: Summer Full-time 40hr weekly/Fall Part-time 20hr weekly

Administration Provides general administrative support to airport departments. Assists with scheduling, organizing files, preparing documents, and supporting day-to-day office operations. Gains exposure to internal processes, communication flow, and coordination across multiple teams.DUE TO A CHANGE IN THE CITY CHARTER, THIS BECAME UNCLASSIFIED.Must be a bona fide student in an educational institution of recognized standing
Minimum Qualifications- Must be a bonified student in an accredited college.
Additional Requirements:- Must successfully complete a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) 10-year fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check and employment background check and Security Threat Assessment.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 35 pounds.
- A valid State of Ohio Driver’s License is required.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesUnder administrative directions an intern is utilized to support daily operations while gaining practical, hands-on experience in a professional setting. In an airport environment, interns assist with administrative tasks, data tracking, research, and project coordination across various departments. They provide additional capacity to teams by helping with routine responsibilities, allowing full-time staff to focus on higher-level priorities. At the same time, the internship serves as a structured learning opportunity where the individual develops industry knowledge, strengthens professional skills, and gains exposure to airport operations, policies, and organizational processes.
AdministrationProvides general administrative support to airport departments. Assists with scheduling, organizing files, preparing documents, and supporting day-to-day office operations. Gains exposure to internal processes, communication flow, and coordination across multiple teams.
Commercial Business & RevenueSupports revenue-generating functions such as concessions, parking, and tenant relations. Assists with data entry, basic reporting, and vendor coordination. Learns how the airport drives revenue and supports business operations through analysis and administrative support.
DevelopmentAssists with airport development and capital improvement projects by supporting project documentation, tracking timelines, and coordinating meetings. Gains exposure to planning processes, construction projects, and regulatory requirements within an airport environment.
FinanceSupports the airport’s financial operations by assisting with basic accounting tasks, data entry, and financial reporting. Help track expenses, review invoices, and support budget-related activities. Gains exposure to public-sector financial processes, compliance requirements, and how airport operations are funded and managed.
Marketing, Communication & Guest ExperienceSupports marketing campaigns, internal communications, and customer experience initiatives. Assists with social media content, event coordination, and passenger engagement efforts. Learns how the airport promotes its brand and enhances the traveler experience.
Operations & Public SafetyProvides support to daily airport operations and safety initiatives. Assists with data tracking, reporting, and coordination efforts related to operational activities. Gains exposure to airfield and terminal operations, safety protocols, and emergency preparedness processes.
