MajorDuties

• This position is located at the Army Aviation Support Facility #2 (AASF) in Redrock, Arizona. The purpose of this position is to act as the Aircraft Mechanic (Crew Chief) with responsibility for managing the operational readiness of one or more aircraft, and proficiency training of supported aviation unit personnel. Responsibilities include detailed technical oversight of individual aircraft's level of mission capabilities and projection of maintenance requirements to maintain individual aircraft operational readiness. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics): 1. Ability to manage, monitor or performs overall maintenance, servicing, inspections and documentation for one or more highly technical, high performance military aircraft. 2. Ability to make diagnoses and solves malfunctions of aircraft systems and components by utilizing a wide variety of complex, state of the art computerized and/or non-computerized Test Measurement Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE); by studying layout drawings, blueprints and wiring diagrams; and analyzing specifications and operating characteristics of aircraft and their components. 3. Ability to provide technical guidance and assistance to flight crews regarding observed discrepancies, experienced inflight characteristics and system malfunctions. 4. Ability to participate in Maintenance Test Flights as a crewmember or Technical Observer (TO), as required.
