Air Export Coordinator

Air Export Coordinator | Los Angeles, California | Salary up to $65,000

This position is responsible for coordinating and managing international air export shipments, ensuring timely cargo movement, maintaining accurate export documentation, supporting regulatory compliance, and providing exceptional service to customers, overseas partners, and air carriers. The candidate will have previous experience in air export operations within a freight forwarding environment, along with strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate international air export shipments from booking through final departure
• Communicate with customers, overseas agents, airlines, trucking companies, and warehouse facilities regarding shipment status, requirements, and schedules
• Prepare, review, and process export documentation, including air waybills (AWBs), commercial invoices, packing lists, shipper’s letters of instruction (SLIs), and export declarations
• Coordinate cargo bookings with airlines and ensure adherence to carrier cut-off times and export schedules
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays, documentation discrepancies, or transportation-related issues
• Arrange and coordinate pickup, consolidation, warehousing, and airport transfers as required
• Ensure compliance with TSA regulations, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and other applicable U.S. export requirements
• Prepare customer invoices, verify vendor charges, and maintain accurate billing records
• Update shipment milestones and maintain accurate records within internal operating systems
• Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to shipment inquiries and customer requests
• Maintain compliance with company policies, security requirements, and international air freight standards

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in air export freight forwarding required
• Strong understanding of international air freight procedures and export documentation
• Experience coordinating airline bookings and export shipment logistics
• Knowledge of TSA regulations, AES filing requirements, and U.S. export compliance procedures preferred
• Familiarity with CargoWise or similar freight forwarding software is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
