In this role, you will assist with various agronomic projects, including soil sampling, tissue sampling, crop monitoring, and data collection. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture and contribute to our mission of advancing agricultural practices.Reports to: Agronomy TechnicianPrimary Responsibilities and Duties:Provide professional in-field agronomic support.Engage in on-farm research, analyzing and testing new farm practices such as application methods, product testing, management strategies, and programs using PhycoTerra.Build and maintain relationships with key customers, agronomy personnel, farmers/managers, researchers, company managers, and independent consultants within the region while promoting the benefits of PhycoTerra products.Manage the day-to-day data collection for multiple trials within your territory.Conduct field scouting and analysis, including weekly farm and field visits to assess crop health, identify pest and disease issues, analyze soil conditions, and evaluate plant nutrient deficiencies.Report and document progress and key findings and be prepared to present relevant findings to cross-functional teams.Positively represent PhycoTerra at company events, customer events, and trade events.Demonstrate a practical understanding of the design, execution, monitoring, and summarization of crop field trial by developing an in-season field trial examination of a feature related to PhycoTerra applications and deliver a report on your findings at the end of the internship.Perform other duties as needed.Qualifications:Basic understanding of agronomic principles and practices Valid driver's license and ability to travel within a territoryAbility to travel up to 75%Experience with spreadsheets, presentation, and word processing softwarePreferred Qualifications:Currently pursuing a degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Soil Science, or related fieldPrevious experience in agronomy, crop scouting, or related fieldworkAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExperience with GPS guided data collection instruments Physical Requirements:Sit for extended periods of time (2 hours at a time, 8 hours per day)Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 lbsFrequently perform fine manipulations with hands and fingersAbility to walk and stand for long periods of time in rough, field terrainAbility to collect tissue and soil samples in field environments
