Position Overview
The Ag Drone Sales Specialist is responsible for developing new business opportunities and supporting existing customers throughout the sales process. This role requires a consultative approach to sales, including discovery conversations, equipment demonstrations, solution recommendations, and customer training.
The successful candidate will become a trusted advisor to producers, ag retailers, custom applicators, and other agricultural professionals seeking to implement drone-based application technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage sales opportunities for agricultural drone hardware, software, and related solutions
- Build relationships with growers, ag retailers, custom applicators, and agricultural service providers throughout the territory
- Conduct customer discovery meetings to understand operational challenges and recommend appropriate solutions
- Perform equipment demonstrations and field evaluations for prospective customers
- Provide customer onboarding, training, and operational guidance following equipment purchases
- Generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and industry events
- Represent Frontier Precision Agriculture at trade shows, field days, customer events, and industry conferences
- Stay current on agricultural drone technology, precision agriculture trends, and regulatory requirements
- Provide technical consultation and support to customers and internal team members
- Collaborate with manufacturer partners and internal subject matter experts to ensure customer success
- Maintain accurate sales activity and forecasting within company CRM systems
Preferred Experience:
- Agricultural sales experience
- Precision agriculture experience
- Agricultural aviation or application experience
- Experience operating agricultural drones or other unmanned aircraft systems
- Agronomy, crop consulting, ag retail, or farm operations background
Required Skills:
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to present and demonstrate technology solutions to customers
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory
- Ability to learn and communicate technical concepts effectively
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel overnight as needed
