Aftermarket Service Technician & Coordinator
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL (Hybrid: Office & On-vessel) Type: Full-Time
The Opportunity
Are you a technical expert who thrives on solving complex puzzles? Do you love the marine industry but want a role that challenges both your mechanical skills and your organizational prowess?
Our Client is a global leader in high-tech stabilization and maneuvering systems for the world’s most prestigious yachts. As an Aftermarket Service Technician & Coordinator, you won’t just be turning wrenches; you will be the "engine room" of their US service operations. You’ll act as a key technical reference, a customer advocate, and a logistics orchestrator, ensuring their clients experience peak performance on the water.
The Role: What You’ll Do
This is a "many hats" role designed for someone who hates being bored. Your time will be split between high-level coordination and hands-on technical execution.
1. Technical Expert & Problem Solver
- On the Water: Perform sea-trials, commissioning, and troubleshooting for cutting-edge stabilization and steering systems.
- In the Lab: Diagnose complex electrical and mechanical issues, supporting our US and International teams to provide rapid-response solutions.
- Warranty & Reliability: Lead the charge on warranty maintenance, ensuring every vessel we touch meets our world-class standards.
2. Aftermarket & Logistics Orchestrator
- The Hub: Act as the primary point of contact for support requests, managing the lifecycle of a service call from the first quote to the final invoice.
- Inventory Master: Manage parts inventory (physical and digital), overseeing stock strategies and coordinating with our European headquarters for international shipments.
- Supply Chain Lead: Issue purchase orders, manage warehouse logistics (including QC and receiving), and ensure we always have the right part at the right time.
Who You Are
- Marine Savvy: You have at least 5 years of experience in the leisure or commercial marine industry (Navy background is a huge plus!).
- Technical Athlete: You have a strong background in electrical, mechanical, or automation systems. You’re as comfortable with a multimeter as you are with an ERP system.
- Customer Champion: You are a natural communicator who can translate "technical speak" into "customer solutions."
- Fort Lauderdale Local: You live within 50 miles of our HQ and are ready to travel locally, nationally, and occasionally internationally.
- Self-Starter: You thrive in small-team environments where your initiative is the primary driver of your success.
The "Must-Haves"
- Education: Degree in Marine Tech/Engineering OR equivalent hands-on experience.
- Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word/Excel); experience with JDE or similar ERP software is a major advantage.
- Essentials: Valid Passport, Driver’s License, and a clean background/drug-free record.
- Physicality: You’re ready to get hands-on—lifting, wrenching, and navigating vessel engine rooms.
Why Join Us?
- Growth: We offer continuous technical training and a clear path for internal career advancement.
- Tools for Success: We provide a company vehicle for service ops, a laptop, and a mobile phone.
- Environment: Work in a high-tech, fast-paced, and international atmosphere where your work has a direct impact on the brand's reputation.
