Description

We’re hiring experienced Aerial Permitting Specialists to support large‑scale fiber network expansion projects. In this role, you’ll own end‑to‑end aerial permitting, ensuring compliance with utility standards, joint‑use requirements, and applicable FCC/NESC guidelines. You’ll drive high‑quality, error‑free permit submissions and coordinate make‑ready activities to keep projects on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full lifecycle aerial permitting for fiber builds (intake → submission → approval → closeout)
  • Prepare and submit joint‑use applications; track approvals and resolve rejections quickly
  • Coordinate make‑ready engineering with utilities, pole owners, and field teams
  • Ensure compliance with FCC regulations, NESC clearances, and utility standards
  • Review designs for permitting readiness; identify risks and required revisions upfront
  • Maintain accurate records in permitting systems; provide status reporting to stakeholders
  • Proactively manage timelines, dependencies, and escalations across multiple markets

Required Skills

  • Hands‑on aerial permitting experience in telecom/fiber deployments
  • Strong knowledge of joint‑use processes and make‑ready coordination
  • Working knowledge of FCC regulations and NESC clearance requirements
  • Experience with permitting systems such as AldenOne, NJUNS, SPANS, JUMS, APS (or similar)
  • Ability to manage high‑volume workflows independently and meet aggressive deadlines

Preferred

  • Background in telecom design/engineering or site acquisition
  • Familiarity with multi‑state utility requirements and pole attachment agreements
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem‑solving skills

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Madison, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $33.00/hr.
