Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record in compliance with institutional, state, and federal guidelines.
Participate in care coordination activities, including scheduling of tests, procedures, and specialty referrals.
Assist with APP coverage needs within the Cellular Therapy / SCT team.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research protocols as appropriate.
Identify appropriate sub‑specialist consultations as needed.

Clinical
Perform and document history and physical examinations, analyze clinical data, and develop differential diagnoses.
Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic therapies, monitor patient responses, and adjust care plans accordingly.
Order, interpret, and manage diagnostic tests and imaging related to hematologic malignancies.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in coordination with attending hematologists and the interdisciplinary team.
Monitor and manage side effects and complications of chemotherapy, targeted therapies, immunotherapies, and other cancer treatments.
Perform cellular infusions, bone marrow biopsies, and skin biopsies.
Provide patient and family education regarding disease processes, treatment plans, side effects, prognosis, and survivorship.
Adhere to infection prevention protocols when caring for immunocompromised patients.
Provide direct care across two clinical environments:
• Cancer Center Infusion Center (3 weekend day‑shift sessions per month)
• Inpatient Cellular Therapy / SCT Unit (two 12‑hour weekday shifts, Monday–Friday)
Leadership
Professionally lead and support other members of the care team in a dynamic clinical environment.
Collaborate closely with physician and advanced practice leadership to optimize workflow, quality, and patient outcomes.
Model high standards of clinical practice, communication, and teamwork.
Actively engage in process improvement and quality improvement initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master’s degree.
Experience: Department and unit specific.
Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The starting base rate for this role is $116,123.00 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
