Adult Probation Clerk

The Brazoria County Community Supervision and Corrections Department has an opening for an Adult Probation Clerk.
This position is a full-time position located in Angleton, TX. Starting salary is $37,440 based on experience and qualifications.

A common set of duties of the Adult Probation Clerk includes but is not limited to:

  1. Answer telephone calls, screening, forwarding and relaying messages.
  2. Greet and assist visitors or clients in a professional and courteous manner.
  3. Rotate delivery of mail duties with support staff; open, sort and direct mail to the appropriate departments, units, or officers.
  4. Retrieve court dockets, and jail list for posting and internal distribution
  5. Perform cashier responsibilities resulting in handling payments and maintaining accurate financial records.
  6. Ensure accurate processing and documentation with data entries with attention to detail and confidentiality.
  7. Assist with special projects as required; support intake operations, and rotate scheduling responsibilities with other clerical staff as needed.
  8. Traveling to satellite offices to assist when needed to provide support when required, ensuring consistent operations across locations.
  9. Perform additional duties and tasks as required by supervisor to support departmental goals and operations.

This individual must have a high school diploma or equivalent GED, type 50 words per minute and have the ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy. Strong attention to detail is essential across all aspects of work. The candidate must exhibit professional communication skills when interacting with department personnel and consistently uphold strict confidentiality standards. Proficiency in computer operations is required, and the individual must be willing and able to attend training sessions as needed.

Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred, but not required.

The required work hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with alternating late night of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. as scheduled on Tuesday or Thursday.
