ADRC Nutrition and Wellness Supervisor

Provides leadership, supervision, and administrative oversight of Waupaca County’s Senior Nutrition and Health Promotion programs. Ensures services are effectively delivered in alignment with federal, state, and local requirements while supporting older adults to live independently, safely, and with dignity in their communities

Program Oversight & Administration:

  • Oversee daily operations of the Senior Nutrition Program (Bistro 60, Home Delivered Meals, Congregate Dining) and Health Promotion programs
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and program requirements
  • Lead program planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Administer the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program

Supervision & Team Leadership:

  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate assigned staff, including nutrition site managers, program support staff, and contracted dietitian
  • Support staff development, training, and performance management
  • Participate in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes
  • Foster a collaborative, team-oriented work environment

Fiscal & Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage program budgets in collaboration with the ADRC Manager
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure responsible stewardship of program funds
  • Identify opportunities for program growth and sustainability
  • Responsible for the management of nutrition and health promotion waitlists as needed

Community Engagement & Outreach:

  • Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, providers, and stakeholders
  • Promote nutrition and health promotion services throughout the county
  • Support outreach efforts to increase program awareness and participation
  • Support a positive working relationship with contracted providers

Planning & Committee Involvement:

  • Co-develop, implement, and monitor the Waupaca County Aging Plan (3-Year Plan)
  • Responsible for the coordination of the Nutrition Advisory Council, ADRC & Aging Advisory Committee, and other assigned groups
  • Attend local, regional, and state meetings related to aging and nutrition services
  • Responsible for marketing and outreach for the nutrition and health promotion programs
  • Responsible for the development and execution of the ADRC and Nutrition program newsletters

Data, Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure accurate data entry and reporting in required systems
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of program data to Waupaca County Fiscal Department for state reporting.
  • Monitor program performance and outcomes
  • Maintain documentation and reporting in compliance with state and federal guidelines

Volunteer Coordination:

  • Oversee recruitment, training, and retention of nutrition program volunteers
  • Ensure volunteers are effectively utilized and supported across program sites

Decision-Making & Authority:

  • Makes day-to-day operational decisions regarding program delivery and staffing
  • Provides recommendations to the ADRC Manager on program development, budgeting, and staffing needs

Working Relationships:

  • Reports to: Aging & Disability Resource Unit Manager
  • Works closely with: ADRC and DHS staff, community partners, contracted providers, and volunteers
  • Engages with: Older adults, caregivers, community organizations, and the general public

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Public Health, Nutrition/Dietetics, Social Work, or a related field required.

Experience:

  • Experience in aging services, public health, or human services preferred
  • Direct experience working with older adults and/or individuals with disabilities preferred
  • Experience in nutrition services, food service management, and health promotion programming preferred

Certifications/Requirements:

  • Wisconsin Food Manager Certification within 90 days of hire
  • Registered Dietitian (RD), Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR), or similar credential preferred
  • Knowledge of aging programs, nutrition services, and health promotion principles
  • Understanding of budgeting and fiscal management practices
  • Strong leadership, supervision, and team-building skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse partners
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to manage data, reporting requirements, and program compliance
